Each September, communities across the nation come together to recognize Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. It is a time to raise awareness, share resources, and remind one another that every life matters. At Bibb Medical Center, we want our community to know that help is always available and no one has to struggle alone.
Why Suicide Prevention Matters
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, touching families, workplaces, schools, and entire communities. Beyond the statistics are real people, neighbors, friends, and loved ones, whose lives can be changed by compassion, connection, and timely support.
By talking about mental health and suicide openly, we can break down the stigma that often keeps people silent. Awareness saves lives, and conversations create hope.
BMC Behavioral Health Services
At Bibb Medical Center, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health. Our Behavioral Health team is here to provide care, resources, and encouragement for individuals and families in our community. Whether you are navigating stress, depression, or other mental health concerns, you do not have to face it alone.
To get started, contact our Behavioral Health Services at (205) 926-3270.
